Bailey is back at the clinc!
On Tues. eve. I took Bailey and Cliffy back up to the clinic to have them both rechecked. Unfortunately, I received bad news on Wed. that Cliffy could come back to my house that eve. , but Bailey would have to stay at the clinic! Her eye problems which we were hoping were a sign that some Graft Versus Host Disease was occurring, intead was from the cancer. Her white blood cell count was extremely low, so she has been given a couple of transfusions, more chemo. , and is on prednisone. She is doing better, but we are not sure if the donor lymphocyte infusion which she had on Dec. 7th is going to work. Dr. Sullivan is hoping that she will go into remission from the chemo. Because Cliffy was, believe it or not too good of a match for Bailey, which is why the transplant did not work, and since he was her only match, the next possibility for Bailey would be a partial transplant using a sibling who was not a match. O f course, this will take funding as did her first transplant. She would have a fifty-fifty chance of surviving this procedure. Maybe the DLI will work, and if not, I hope that she can have the partial transplant!
